WANDA M. Age 96, resident of Albuquerque for 9 years, passed away Thursday evening, December 1, 2011, in her home. Wanda is survived by her children, George and his wife, Patricia, Carol, Jane, and Tom and his wife, Terry; grandchildren, Scott, Timothy, Matthew, Michael, Nancy and Bryan; great-grandchildren, David, Stephanie, Owen, Tice, Nalani, Sophia and Mikiah; sister, Vicky and her children; and many other relatives and friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marcella Kluz; husband George; and longtime friend and companion, George Schmidt. She was born in Pennsylvania, but lived most of her life in New Jersey. Wanda and her husband owned and operated several businesses, including The Widow's Tavern in Paterson, NJ, and The Village Fountain in Clifton, NJ. She was an active member of St. Brendan's Roman Catholic Church in Clifton, NJ, serving as Eucharistic Minister and worked in the kitchen at Friday Night Bingo. After retirement, Wanda was able to travel extensively, and had fond memories of her trip to the Holy Land, Canada and Alaska. She had an impressive collection of teddy bears, enjoyed breakfasts at The Elk's Club and dinners at Red Lobster with the special people in her life. Wanda's family would like to thank The Rehab Center of Albuquerque, especially nurses Amy and Emmanuel, and Vista Care Hospice, especially Dr. Joy Lovette, Karen (Nurse), Kristen (CNA), and her loving and dedicated caregivers Jeanette, Yaqui and Ugen. Wanda's sweet disposition will be remembered by all. Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at French, Westside Chapel, with reception immediately following.
