JOSEPH (JOE) AKA CAMPANELLI Age 78, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011. Joe was born July 14, 1933 to Jennie and Rosario Camuglia in Staten Island, NY. He served in the U.S. Air Force band and was stationed in Guam. Upon discharge, he pursued his education in advertising at Utica New York University. He came to Albuquerque in 1960 and worked as an advertising executive for Channel 13 for a short while before venturing into wholesale Italian food distribution to supermarkets in Albuquerque and surrounding areas of the state. Following that, he established Paisano's Rolling Pizza, a successful city-wide pizza delivery service, the forerunner of Paisano's Italian Restaurant opened in 1973 on Eubank Blvd. where it has remained a popular eatery for 38 years. Joe retired in 1994 and his son Rick took the helm. Joe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce; son, Rick; daughters, Becky Rippel and Cheryl Thompson; grandchildren, Bethany Hillson and Nathan Hillson; four sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
