He is the beloved earthly twin to his cousin, Meghan Oleson Schleyer, with whom he shared an inextricable life long bond, and her husband Matthew Schleyer, whom he also regarded as a brother. He is also survived by his niece Isabella Elise Jaramillo, whom he loved beyond measure and with whom he spent countless hours of play and adventure which is why he was regarded as her favorite child sitter, by his loving niece Anya Hoffman and nephew Avrian Hoffman, and by his grandmother, Helen, Clauss. He was preceded in death by his aunt Barbara, Grandmother Elise and Grandfather Ueal Bell and Grandfather Frederick Clauss. Joshua finished his earthly journey surrounded by those he loved most in this world, his family. Joshua attended high school in Belen and Los Lunas. Following high school, he attended UNM, University of Hawaii and N.M. Tech, with majors in science, foreign language and mathematics. He aspired to attend Veterinary school in Colorado. He will be most remembered for his evenings of rock band with his siblings, his wit at regular family gatherings, his unconditional love and positive regard for family and friends, his compassionate zeal for life, his zest for travel and adventure, his love of foreign languages, culture, photography, cardio workouts, dance, music, love of animals and for Skyping with sister SooJee, to tutor her in physics and calculus. He was ever sensitive to the homeless, to orphaned pets, and to those in need. During his brief life he worked for NM Donor services, for Defined Fitness, as a Veterinary Tech, and an EMT and firefighter with the Los Chavez Fire Dept. and briefly with the Raton Fire Dept. Josh was a gentle soul, who always had wit, humor and an infectious smile. He was a friend to all whom he met and ready to help a person in need. He was humble, compassionate, loving and charitable. He had a strong faith which carried him through life's challenges and sustained him while he fought his final battle. He will be unimaginably missed by his family and friends. While his time with us was much too short, we all feel blessed to have known him, laughed with him and loved him these past years 29 years. Each moment was priceless. We thank the staff at University Hospital and clinics for their valiant efforts and comforting kindness to Josh and to our family.
