Obituary for ANDERSON

SARA JANE Born Sara Jane Holderman, November 27, 1932 in Escanaba, Michigan to Esther Mae Holderman (Baldwin) and Herbert Leon Holderman gave over her physical life to the life that she gave to all who cherish her now and always. She leaves together her husband Michael Ortiz; her sons Greg, Scott and Mack Anderson; her sister Karen Boettcher (Holderman); her brother-in-law Gary Boettcher; her sister-in-law Eleanore Holderman; her sons' father, Reverend James Anderson; five grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and uncounted friends whom she counted as family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edmund Julian Holderman. Sara Jane retired from the Nursing Faculty of UNM after 21 years of service in advancing the practice of nursing care with devoted attention to holistic care and positive models for delivering and measuring the care of seniors. She wrote numerous grant proposals for expanding care of seniors and residents of rural areas and participated in establishing and teaching in clinics serving these needs. The family requests that any commemorative gifts be made to Animal Humane New Mexico and/or Watermelon Ranch Animal Shelter.
