Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday November 04, 2011

DEMARIS (DEE) Born 3/18/1931, passed from our hands to those of the Lord on 10/30/2011 at home, peacefully and in the company of her caring family. She was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and spent many summers on her uncle's farm in Seward NE. She attended Doane College in Crete NE, but departed early to enter the energetic passenger air industry as a stewardess. Her United Airline west coast routes included Seattle WA where she met her husband, W. Scott Jarrett. The courtship with Scott lead her to Washington DC and the two were wed in Omaha in 1954. Three of her children, David, Cherise and Robert arrived during the first four years spent in the DC area. Soon after heading west to Deming, NM in 1967, DeMaris delivered her 4th child, Steven. The family eventually settled and spent the next 43 years in Albuquerque, NM. Dee committed herself to her family and service to her community. Her many selfless volunteer efforts included those at Christ Lutheran and Faith Lutheran Churches, Presbyterian Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She regularly mixed the joy of friends with her pass times of bridge, chorus group and quilting. She is remembered as a devoted spouse, loving and supportive mother, and steadfast friend. Her spirit resonates within the hearts of her surviving sister Harriet Kokjer; brother Ken Kampfe; husband Scott; David and Susan Jarrett, Bill and Cherie Baker, Bob and Yvonne Jarrett and Steve Jarrett and Monet Canter; as well as nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Donations in-lieu of flowers may be made to Joy Junction, 320 Gold Ave SW #920, Albuquerque, NM 87102 in her name. Memorial service, Friday November 4, 2011, 10:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Ave. NE, Albuquerque NM 87111.
