GERALDINE FRANCES DOWELL Was born on September 8, 1928, in Spencer, WV. She married Robert F. Stephens, on November 7, 1948, in Grafton, WV. Geraldine died on October 20, 2011. Gerry received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from UNM and taught school (mostly first grade) for 20 years before retiring in 1988. She loved teaching children to read. She was active in Assistance League of Albuquerque. Gerry was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob. She is survived by her three children, Robert (wife, Mary) of Austin, TX, Karen (husband, Larry) of Gallup, NM, and Pamela (husband, Roy) of Santa Fe, NM. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Scott (wife, Brenda), Greg, Justin (wife, Maria), Micah, Bryce (husband, Orion), and Carley; and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Sidney. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Assistance League of Albuquerque, 5211 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, 505-247-4219; Kasemen Presbyterian Hospice, 8300 Constitution NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112, or to charity of your choice. Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo NE.
