JAMES EARL Resided in Mason, MI, but formerly of New Mexico. Age 73, went to be with The Lord, Tuesday, October 18, 2011. James was born February 11, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Harold and Eileen (Ferrand) Rose. Jim resided in New Mexico for 22 years before moving back to Michigan in 2005. Jim was a member at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque and enjoyed being an usher. He took great pride in volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Jim loved sports and enjoyed playing cards. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carlah; children, James (Letitia) Rose, Debra (Randy) Kelbert and Daniel (Caroline) Rose; brother, Donald (Carol) Rose; sisters, Sharon (Lawrence) Schafer and Barbara (Richard) O'Rourke; half sisters, Ethel "Es" (Robert) Gift and Sandra (Jim) Sweeney; grandchildren, Alicia, Amanda, Alexis, Jacqueline, James III, Noah and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Eli; beloved cousin, William (Joann) Rose. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 11:00 AM at Messiah Lutheran Church, Holt, Michigan with Rev. Stephen Grafe and Rev. Daniel Rose officiating. Entombment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Monday, October 24, 2011, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Holt Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels in memory of Jim.
