RUTH At peace now as always. Ruth Pearl Brown Durkin peacefully passed from a life well lived Oct.5, 2011. Born in Las Animas Colorado 0n Nov. 14, 1918, Ruth was a kind person with an old Soul who quietly paved the way for many people by setting an example for consideration, love and acceptance. She was ahead of her time in many ways, from being an independent and adventurous young woman in the 40's to exploring forms of alternative health care and spirituality. Ruth's open and curious mind,lead her to explore many things and meet many wonderful people. Ruth was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. She and her husband Francis had four beautiful children. Francis and their children, Jocelyn and Frank, preceded her in death. Surviving relatives include granddaughter Halcyon James-Levine; daughter Cindy Stanley her husband Bob their children Ben and Alex; daughter Eileen Gertz and her husband Bill; Others that will dearly miss Ruth include; lifelong friends Barbara Steinberg and Audrey Kern; former sons' in law Richard Levine and Willie James; and friends Domie Laughlin, Sheri Mitchell and Sandy Jenkins. Ruth accepted life as it came with grace and dignity. She loved and respected all people and nature. She will be greatly missed by all. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held at Cindy's on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
