Obituary for FULLILOVE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday October 05, 2011

SHARON (ERICKSON) Surrounded by family and friends, Sharon Fullilove, age 30, gave her final thumbs up on September 30, 2011. Sharon had recently come to call New Mexico home after moving to Albuquerque to take a job as the morning reporter for KOB Eyewitness News 4. Everyone lucky enough to meet or know Sharon would tell you of her infectious smile, laughter, and warmth. She lit up the room the moment she entered and had a way of making everyone around her feel special. Those lucky enough to have been able to call Sharon daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece or friend were so enormously blessed to have had such a wonderful woman in their lives. There are no words to describe the pain of losing her so young, but we can hope to learn from the way she lived her own life. Live your life with joy, smile from ear to ear, and give two thumbs up whenever possible. Sharon is survived by her father, Richard Fullilove; her mother and step-father, Michaela and Gary Shafer; her sisters, Brittany Shafer and Chantel Fullilove; her brothers, Gary Shafer, Jr. and Jake Fullilove; and her grandparents, Roy and Nan Fullilove. Services will be held at New Covenant Church at 7201 Paseo del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM, on October 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to New Mexico Donor Services at 1609 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM, 87102. There will also be a broadcast journalism scholarship in Sharon's name established at UNM.
