MARIA ESLINDA (IRENE) Age 70, Born January 9, 1941 to Adrian and Georgia Ortega, in Las Vegas, NM, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 24, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Georgia Ortega. Irene is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Albert Ramirez Sr.; loving children, Roberta Archuleta and husband Herman, Marlene Medina and Albert Ramirez Jr., all of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Sylvia Padilla and her late husband Gilbert of Guymon, OK, Mollie Salazar and husband Rudy of Phoenix, AZ, Josie Crespin and Mary Lou Montano both of Las Vegas, NM; and step-brother, Eddie Ortega of Las Vegas, NM. Her passions in life were her precious grandchildren, Andrea Archuleta, Noelle Archuleta, Matthew Archuleta, Danielle Medina, Domanique Solis, Gabriel Medina, Samantha Ramirez, Isiah Ramirez, Andres Ramirez and Samuel Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Andres Archuleta, Lorenzo Santillanes and Selena Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Her joy in life was to travel to Ruidoso with her husband and sitting at the cabin watching the wild life. They shared the most precious time together there. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will take place at Garcia Mortuary in the Chapel of Angels, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 pm; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd, Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 9:00 am; Celebrant will be Father Joe Vigil; Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 pm. Pallbearers are Albert Ramirez Jr., Gabriel Medina, Matthew Archuleta, Isiah Ramirez, Andres Ramirez and Andres Archuleta; Honorary Bearers are Samantha Ramirez, Samuel Ramirez and Ronald Santillanes.
