Obituary for SALAZAR

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday September 23, 2011

KEVIN Age 43, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2011. He is survived by his spouse, Shelly; his daughters, Heather Salazar and partner, Joaquin Herrera and Hollyanne Salazar and partner, Anthony Pinzon; his father, Hank Salazar; his mother, Sue Defenbaugh; his sisters, Susie and Lynn Salazar; his brothers, Hank Salazar Jr. and wife Cherese, Anthony Salazar and partner, Amanda Walden, John Salazar and wife, April, and Matthew and Andrew Salazar; sister-in-law, Sharon Breech; and several nieces and nephews. Kevin was born in Oxnard, CA and relocated to Albuquerque in the early 1990's. He brought with him his love for painting and ultimately led one of the most successful painting businesses in Albuquerque. He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first granddaughters. His passion for old cars created quite the used car lot in his driveway because he refused to part with any of them. He was always game for a road trip and enjoyed his fishing, his dogs, and a beautiful sunset. He fought the good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at French - Wyoming Chapel. Interment will be private at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Suite 300, Albuquerque, NM 87111 or Watermelon Mountain Ranch Animal Rescue, 1512 Deborah Rd.
