Obituary for GRIEVES

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday September 22, 2011

WILLIAM RANDALL Was born July 9, 1952 in Eagle Lake, Texas. He was the third son born to Jack and Mary Grieves. Rand began his strong work ethic early in life working in the farming and ranching industry before graduating from Eagle Lake High School. He continued in farming until 1997 when he moved to Albuquerque where he began driving for Central Consolidated Freight Company and was a coast to coast driver for ten years. Whether it was a tale about hunting alligators or his life on the road everyone enjoyed his humor. His story telling and quick wit would bring more than a smile to his friends and usually would mean full throttle belly laughs with tears running down their cheeks. No topic was sacred and no one was spared being the target of his wit using his Texas drawl to liven up the story. Rand was preceded in death by his parents. His is survived by his two older brothers and their families: David and Rose of Albuquerque and John and Paula of Roswell, NM; and two nieces Megan Grieves and Kristin Mihalik and her husband George of Albuquerque; and great cousin, Sally Veseth of Albuquerque. A Memorial Mass will be held 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Our Lady of The Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont Street NE.
