LOIS ARLEEN Passed away on Sept. 6th at the age of 92. For the past five years she has resided in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born on July 26, 1919 in Milwaukee, WI. Her parents were Fred and Martha Schroeder. She married George M. Karl, Jr. on Jan. 3, 1942 who preceded her in death on April 23, 1993. Lois and George lived in many places and enjoyed their travels around the world. They both spent several years living in Albuquerque where they had many friends. She is survived by sisters Fern Caesar and Edith Diehl. Her brother George Schroeder preceded her in death in 2010. She is also survived by her children Diane R. Karl of Savage, MN, Donald G. Karl and his wife Karen of Colorado Springs, CO, Judith A. Mangina of Taos, NM, and Kathryn A. Tarazoff and her husband James of Highlands Ranch, CO. She is survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the Medalion Retirement Community Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO on Sept. 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with David Campbell presiding. Lois will be interred beside her husband at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM where a graveside ceremony will be conducted on Sept. 16, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Lois was a caring and loving wife, mother and friend to those around her. She loved to play bridge. She will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 455 Sherman St, #500, Denver, CO 80203.
