JAMES OSCAR Age 78, of Albuquerque, passed away September 1, 2011 after a valiant battle against C O P D, and pneumonia. He was born in Schuyler County, Mo. and graduated Memphis High School in 1951 where he played on both basketball and softball teams. He joined the Army and was sent to Korea and was attached to the Air Force installing pipelines. After returning home he married Lois Snowbarger in 1956. The family moved to New Mexico where he drove trucks and worked construction. He later bought Diamond Transfer and managed it for 37 years. A devoted husband and father he made time to coach little league baseball, teach his son welding, auto mechanics or go on family outings. He loved to take his granddaughter Bailey out on the boat or just to get ice cream. James was preceded in death by his wife Lois; father Fred Allen and mother Lela Allen. He is survived by his bother Bud; sister Jean; son James W.; granddaughter Bailey K. Allen; and former daughter in law Valerie Allen. A memorial service will be held Saturday September 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Boys and Girls Clubs of Albuquerque or the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico.
