CAROL B. Died peacefully at home on Sept. 2, 2011, with her family and friends around her after a long and valiant struggle against cancer. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 5, 1942, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry; daughters, Jessica Golden Tolsky, of West Hills, Calif., and Phyllis Hoffman of Merrick, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law B. Michael and Cynthia Becker, of Dallas, Tex.; and grandsons, David, Reuven, and Ethan Hoffman and Andrew and Jeremy Tolsky. Carol received degrees in music and music education from the University of Minnesota and the University of Maryland. She taught choral music for 25 years in Montgomery County, Maryland, public schools and retired to Albuquerque 18 years, ago. She was the beloved director of the B'nai Israel choir for 18 years. The funeral will be held, graveside, at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd., SE, on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Rabbis Scott Hoffman and Arthur Flicker and Cantor Josh Perlman will officiate.
