GREGORITA "GOYA" Was the second born to the late Maclovia Jaramillo and Aparcio Lovato in San Luis, New Mexico on May 27, 1922. Loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, August 27, 2011, Goya was surrounded by prayer, music, love, family and friends. She joined her beloved husband Esequiel Dominguez one day before his birthday; her parents, Maclovia and Aparcio Lovato; sons, Donald Dominguez, Robert Maestas, George Dominguez; grandson, Ronnie Montoya; her in-laws, Adelaido and Beatriz Dominguez; brothers, Isa and wife Rebecca Lovato, Crespin and wife Fita Lovato, Telesfor and wife Bertha Lovato; sisters, Faviola Chavez, and Christie Garcia; brothers-in-law, Victor Dominguez, Gene Garcia and Ermie Martinez. Goya is survived by her loving children, Harold and Patricia Dominguez, Adela Dominguez, and Larry Dominguez, Gilbert and Rita Roybal, Lorraine and Gary Stubblefield, Mary and Larry Sisneros, Raymond and Adelita Garduno, Lorraine and Don Marthefka, and Doris Dominguez. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Tillie Martinez, Rufina and husband Arsenio Jaramillo, Victoriana and husband Armelino Lovato; sisters-in-law, Dolores Dominguez, Louisa and husband Joseph Maestas; brothers-in-law, Santiago Chavez, Adelaido and wife Dolores Dominguez; her godchildren, Charlene Anderson, Michael Valencia, Uvaldo Madrid, Martin Valencia and Celeste Roybal; her extended family, La Sociedad de Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno de San Luis Gonzaga and Our Lady of Sorrows Choir members. She was also a second mother to Salvador and Lorella Trejo, Andres and Theresa Garcia, Rafael and Blanca Angel, Leonard and Diane Prairie, and Ralph and Annette Chavez; caregiver, vecina and beloved friend, Mary Helen Yardman; caregiver and grandson, Miguel Sisneros; hairdresser, Bonnie Chavez. Mrs. "D" focused her energy on God, family and community all her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Our Lady of Sorrows Choir, La Sociedad de Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno de San Luis Gonzaga, and was faithful to San Luis Gonzaga and San Lorenzo. She served as mayordoma for the church and was committed to the spiritual obligations related to the morada in San Luis, New Mexico, and madrina for Our Lady of Guadalupe Rosary Rally in Albuquerque, NM. Her home served as a site for Las Posadas which included the traditional comanchitos. Together with her husband they were active with, the Knights of Columbus 7633; San Luis/Cabezon Mutual Water Association advocating for water and was vocal in land grant injustices; provided shelter and food to immigrants and her home was open to all; always voted and never gave up on her commitments. Despite health issues all her life, she was energetic, loved music, dancing, joking and being around people. Special thanks to the many relatives and friends who offered prayers, love and friendship for our beloved mother. Your kindness and generosity has been overwhelming and truly appreciated. God Bless you all. A Rosary will be recited Friday, September 2, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at San Luis Cemetery in San Luis, NM.
