Obituary for RHODES

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday August 21, 2011

DIANA L. (HABING) Diana L. Rhodes, 49, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday August 14, 2011 after a 10 year fight with melanoma cancer. She lived life her way and was more than ready to begin her journey to a better place. She had the remarkable courage to follow her own instincts as to what was right for her in living with cancer. She inspired those around her with her great strength, spirit and courage. She was simply one of a kind. She is survived by her husband, John Habing and her beloved little Lacy; mother, Elva Dominguez; father, Allen Rhodes and his wife, Aubrey; all her sisters and brothers; nieces, nephews and friends. She was especially close to her niece, Yvette Mathews and her family (husband Cody, son Cody Jr. and daughter Cassaundra). Diana did not want a funeral or memorial service. A gathering of family and friends celebrating her life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to her Presbyterian Hospice team-Brenda, Deborah, Diane and Janet, your loving support and care meant so much. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Hospice Healthcare Foundation, P.O. Box 26666, Albuquerque, NM 87125. FRENCH 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400
