NANCY JANE Nancy Jane Hemry-Botts died peacefully at home on August 18th. Born in 1933 in Springfield OH, Nancy attended Ohio State University and earned a B.A. in Education at San Jose State University, then an M.A. in English Literature at State University College, Brockport NY. She taught K-12, reading, remedial reading, and ESL. She also wrote and edited at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich. After retirement she lived abroad with her husband for two years. She volunteered in Albuquerque Family Court as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Nancy belonged to the Sierra Club and the American Association of University Women. She is survived by husband, Henry E. Botts; children Jeffrey Garverick of Wilmington DE, Stephanie Garverick of Sherman Oaks CA, and Bryan Garverick of Rochester NY; step-children Dale Botts and his wife Mary of Fullerton CA, Cheryl Botts of Ithaca NY; and grandchildren Kimberly and Michael Botts of Fullerton and Nico Botts of Ithaca.
