JOSEPH CLARENCE "COLLIE" Passed away on August 16, 2011; he spent his 77 years living life to the fullest. He created a home with his loving and devoted wife Lolita, and their two daughters Harriett and Mary K. in Albuquerque, N.M., and his three infant sons preceded him in death. He doted on his two grandchildren Andrea and Eric Platero of Albuquerque, N.M. Collie was raised in the Pueblo of Cochiti, and has many family in the Pueblo's of Cochiti and Zuni. He has numerous friends in the state and across the country. Joseph Clarence was an accountant by trade and worked at Quinn & Co. Stock Brokerage and in the steel industry. He was a talented artist, an avid reader and loved news and information. He traveled across the country during his early years, and served in the Army during the Korean War. A Catholic Vigil and Rosary, led by Deacon Gerald Chavez of Cochiti Pueblo, will be held for Joseph Clarence Bowannie on Monday August 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Daniel's Family Chapel located at 9420 Fourth Street in Albuquerque, N.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Joseph Clarence's honor to the Disabled American Veterans organization, or any veteran's related organization. A Catholic Mass at the Pueblo of Cochiti will be held at a future date, with a meal to follow at the home of his niece, Melissa Bowannie.
