Obituary for HUNNICUTT

THOMAS EMIL Our beloved and loving father, Thomas Emil Hunnicutt 92, died peacefully Monday, August 8, 2011. His wife of 71 years, Dorothy Hunnicutt, was at his side at their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born and raised in southeast Missouri. His father, Clarence Hunnicutt and Mother, Mary Hunnicutt migrated from eastern Tennessee to Missouri in the early 1900's. He had a long and successful career as an electrical Engineer working in the missile/space industry. His career as a research and development engineer spanned many missile projects such as Redstone, Bomarc, and Atlas. One of the projects he participated in was as a member of the design engineering team that built the Lunar Excursion Module (Moon Buggy). He retired from the State of Florida as a pollution control engineer. After retirement he relocated to New Mexico in 1980. He was also an ordained elder in the Primitive Baptist Church. He pastored churches in West Palm, Florida, and Bloomfield, New Mexico. As a longtime member of the Albuquerque Primitive Baptist Church he was sound in the faith and an avid proponent of free Grace. Thomas E. Hunnicutt is survived by his wife, Dorothy B. Hunnicutt; son, David E. Hunnicutt and wife Mary Hunnicutt; daughters, Patricia Meacham and husband Leon Meacham; Linda Gillio and husband David Gillio, ten grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
