GLADYCE MARIE Has taken her final journey to be with her Lord, resting safe now and at peace. Born on a farm in Deerfield Township, Steele County, Minnesota on March 22, 1928, she passed August 2, 2011 at home in Albuquerque New Mexico in the loving care of her dear Rebecca after a long difficult battle with Alzheimers. Gladyce was a devoted homemaker, a lifelong active member of her church, a creative designer and seamstress, sewing her family's clothing and costumes for many years. She was an avid reader, loved music and dancing, flowers and gardening, and traveling by car with her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking and "happiness" was planning, organizing, and decorating for parties and gatherings of family and friends. She was involved with PTA, Boy Scouts, Campfire Girls and Sunday School, and was a representative of both Tupperware and AVON. Gladyce leaves behind her sister Bernice (Mrs. Richard Mostrom), her brother Roger Rishavy (Darlene), sister-in-law Mary Rishavy, nine nieces and nephews and all those greats. Her Children: Richard Jr. (Julene), Debra (Greg Wolfe), and Rebecca (Rick Romero) and Ex-Husband Richard. Grannie Marie loved all her Grandchildren: Stephanie (John), Nicole (Ryan), Joshua (Elizabeth), Brittany (Neil), Katharyn (Chris), Erik, Zachary, Jesse and Shannon. Great-Grandchildren: Ryan, Trystany, Tiernan, Ashlyn, Christian, Kylee, Salomon, Tyler, Addison, Xavier and Lukas. Gladyce was preceded in this journey by her parents Joseph and Mayme Rishavy, infant brother Richard and brother Clyde. She will be taken home to rest eternally with them in Steele County. Her "Sentimental Journey" complete. A memorial service was held on the evening of August 4th at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Albuquerque NM. God Bless and keep her. She is missed by those who loved her. The Family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
