Obituary for STOUT

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday August 07, 2011

KENNETH L. After battling cancer for two and a half years, the beloved Kenneth L. Stout, 67, of Albuquerque, NM, made his transition on August 3, 2011 surrounded by his family. Ken was born in Trenton, NJ on 8/29/43 to Ella Mae Clayton and Louis Kenneth Stout. Ken served with the Coast Guard for three years after graduating high school. On Feb. 10, 1967 he married Lena Smith in Anchorage, Alaska. They homesteaded the Alaska wilderness for over six years before returning to Albuquerque in 1972 where they have remained ever since. They spent the next 40 years raising their five children, running a successful construction company, tearing up every dance floor they crossed paths with, and singing the old country classics at every karaoke bar in town. Ken Stout was an honest, hardworking, and loving provider, grandfather, husband, and father to his wife and family and he will be missed tremendously. Ken Stout is survived by his spouse of 45 years, Lena Stout. He was the loving father of five children: Tammy Gonzales and husband Felix, Deana Sanchez, Selina Robinson and husband Dave, Kenneth Shaun Stout, and Tara Stout; the grandfather of eight grandchildren; great-grandfather of one, with another on the way; sister Karen Brueggemann and husband Ted of Cedaredge, CO, brother Keith Stout of Anchorage, AK, and the late Kathy Gilmore and surviving spouse Mike in Russellville, AR; two nieces and two nephews. A celebration of Ken's life will be held at the Edelweiss Am Rio Grande German American Club, 4821 Menaul Blvd. NE in Albuquerque on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made to the Chronic Disease Fund in honor of Kenneth Stout. Donations may be made online at www.gooddaysfromcdf.org.
