WILLIAM ADOLPH "BILL" Age 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 in Socorro, NM. Bill was born on January 18, 1918 in New Braunfels, Texas to William W. and Ruby (Hinmann) Givens. He is survived by his loving wife, Velva L. (Knowlton) Givens; his devoted daughters, Rosie Tripp and husband, Don, Charlene Coles, Darlene Anderson and husband, C.B.; his step daughters, Velva Mangum, Emily Care, and Diana Brinkhurst and husband, Owen; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Katherine Huff; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was a resident of Socorro since 1952. Better known as the "Rainbo bread man." He was an avid golfer and enjoyed dancing in his younger years. Bill was a proud Veteran and served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member and Post Commander of the American Legion Post 64, Socorro, NM. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Lonnie Coles; his step son, Robert Drummond; and his sisters, Susie, Madaline, and Alene. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Socorro Chapel. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 9:00 am at The San Miguel Catholic Church Parish Hall with Monsignor Leo Gomez as Celebrant. Interment will be held in the Socorro Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Don Tripp Jr., C.B. Anderson, Don Tripp III, Jeff Davis, Tony Garza, and Lonnie Gonzales.
