KATHERINE O. "KATIE" Our grandmother and friend has gone Home to be with the Lord. Katie was born August 14, 1919 in Fayetteville, NC and died Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the age of 91. Katie is survived by her son-in-law, Tom Freese; four grandchildren, Nancy Ireland of Colorado, Don Freese of Texas, John Freese of Southern California and Anne Hill of Northern California. Katie enjoyed her great grandchildren immensely, they are: Emily and Molly Ireland, Katie, Elly, Asher and Adin Freese, Luke and Julia Freese. In her earlier years her home was filled with guests and yummy smells, because Katie was always cooking for new arrivals. Being a Southern Belle through and through, friends and family were always welcome. Her hospitality continued to the very end. An 11:00 am memorial service is being planned for Saturday, June 18th , 2011 at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 367 State Road 344 in Edgewood, NM (please google for directions). The family will have a private service in Abiquiu, NM at Christ in the Desert Monastery sometime this summer. At Katies request, no flowers are to be sent to the memorial service, instead please make a donation to one of the following organizations in her name: Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 367 State Road 344, Edgewood, NM 87015, Christ in the Desert Monastery, P.O.
