Obituary for QUESNELL

Virgil Euclide Quesnell passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at home surrounded by his family after a full life. He was born and raised in Mentor, Minnesota, but relocated his family to New Mexico in 1961 and has been a Peralta resident for 45 years. Virgil was a member of Local Union 455 (Minnesota) and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 412 (New Mexico) for over 50 years. He and his wife, Lu Quesnell, founded the Bosque Quadrillos Square Dancing Club in 1969. The World War II veteran was a member of the United States Navy from 1942-1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Peter Herb Quesnell; brother, Edmund Quesnell; and grandson, Scott Davis. Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lu Quesnell; children, Linda Davis and her husband, Penn, Mike Quesnell, Eva Quesnell, and Susie Quesnell and her partner George Riley; grandchildren, Penny Davis, Sarah Quesnell and Katie Quesnell; great-grandchildren, Andrew Denas, Christopher McKee, and Seth Davis; and sister-in-law, Maxine Sanders. All services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 19. A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Suzanne Doran. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, on Thursday, May 19, at 2:15 p.m. Pallbearers will be his Union Brothers Ben Hagman, Al Honeycutt, Steve Honeycutt, Tom Montano, John Murphy and George Riley.
