Lena D. Lane, 92, a life-long resident of New Mexico, died on Sunday, May 15, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Freda Woods of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Jody Lee Curry and husband, Walter of Phoenix, AZ, Billy D. Doty and wife, Jennece of Phoenix, AZ, and Shalmarie Cooley and husband, Larry of Peralta, NM; 6 great-grandchildren, Clifford and Matthew Curry, Casey, Kirbye and Lane Doty, and Laramie Cooley; and other relatives and friends. Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lee Lane in 1976. She was born on September 3, 1918 in Dawson, NM and spent her childhood in the Raton, NM area. Lena met Fred, a cowboy passing through from Texas, and they were married December 12, 1936. She loved to crochet, knit, and garden. Lena was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
