Richard P. (Dick) Woodsum, 79, of Elephant Butte, passed away suddenly on May 1, 2011 as the result of a tragic accident. He was born in Massachusetts on June 15, 1931. Dick was an active pilot and flight instructor and had been flying for 46 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, worked as an FAA Flight Services Specialist and served as a deputy at the Sierra County Sheriffs Department. Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie; his daughters Mary Ann and husband Ron Keller and Suzanne Bowman; sisters Jeannie Donahey and Barbara Washwell; and his grandchildren Richard, Edward, Michelle, and Mary Ellen. A memorial remembrance will be held on Saturday, June 4th, at 11:00 am, at the Truth or Consequences Airport.
