Obituary for SCOTT

Claude Robert Scott, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died on Thursday, April 28, 2011; and his family is confident that he chose to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife Alice of Albuquerque and four children, Michael Scott (wife Mary) of Worthington, OH; Russell Scott (wife Rosemarie, deceased) of Roswell, NM; Phillip Scott (wife Margitta) of Albuquerque; and Linda Trice (husband Richard) of Raton, NM. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Birga Alden (husband Robert) of Albuquerque; Nathan Trice (wife Mindy) of Calhan, CO; Rhonda Scott of Brooklyn, NY; Johanna Grassham (husband Daniel) of Albuquerque; Lauren Ratliff (husband Jay) of Raton, NM; Randall Scott (wife Joanna) of El Paso, TX; Jillian Solano (husband Dreyson) of Omaha, NE; and Abigail Scott of Vancouver, BC; six great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Koch of Albuquerque and Doris Pens of Aurora, CO; brother Loren (wife Carol) of Thousand Oaks, CA; and many nephews and nieces and their families. He was a member of Grace Church and later First Baptist Church in Albuquerque. Born to Claude Melnotte Scott and Elsie Marie Huffer Scott in Shenandoah, IA, on October 23, 1920, Claude Scott grew up in the Great Depression and served his country as a pilot in World War II, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross. After a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force, he was an agent with Farmers Insurance for 20 years. He was a faithful husband for 68 years and an excellent provider for his family. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Manzano del Sol Village at 5201 Roma Ave. NE in Albuquerque, with Rev. Cullen Woods and Rev. Harold Trott officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park at 700 Yale Blvd. SE. Pallbearers will be Michael Scott, Russell Scott, Phillip Scott, Richard Trice, Nathan Trice, and Randall Scott.
