Obituary for O'BRIEN

R. Gordon O'Brien of Albuquerque, New Mexico went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2011 at age 77. He died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 13, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Ralph Raymond and Geraldine Ainge O'Brien. Gordon was preceded in death by his late wife Mary Lynne O'Brien and his brother Bill O'Brien. He is survived by four sisters; Pat Pierson, Mary Lou Habermehl, Jane (Jim )Russell, and Bonnie (Chuck) Graves; three daughters and their spouses; Faith (Chris) Pedersen, Tammy (Tom) Solomon, and Beth (David) Swisher; and one son, Timothy Gordon O'Brien. He has nine grandchildren, Tim (Jennifer), Jennifer (Matt) Hinds, Shawn, Kaitlyn, Isaac, Kyle, Kirah, Logan, and Norah; and four great-grandchildren; Jaiden, Caleb, Eirik, and Elias. Gordon wore many hats in his lifetime. He served in the Marine Corp directly out of high school and fought bravely in the Korean War. After his service, Gordon drove many miles for Trailways as a professional bus driver. In 1974 he relocated to Albuquerque where he later started his own legal courier business. Through his devoted heart to his business partners he established a strong bond with many professionals. Gordon had the "gift of gab" and touched many lives with his caring nature and generous spirit. He was a good brother, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and neighbor and will be greatly missed by all. A celebration of his life will be held Monday May 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, located at 3100 Morris, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87111.
