Eugene A. Castiglia, M.D. born March 30, 1927 in Harrisburg, PA, beloved husband, father and grandfather died Monday, April 25, 2011. He has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1959. He served in the Army in Italy after WWII and was a life-long Lobo and graduated from UNM in 1951. He attended Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, PA and graduated in 1955. He practiced gastroenterology in Albuquerque for 30 years. He was a generous donor to many organizations, including Popejoy Hall & Salvation Army. He was a proud Rotarian, Shriner, and a distinguished member of several medical societies. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marion; daughter, Clare Castiglia and husband Larry Shore and daughter, Eugenie A. Rossetti and husband Carmine Rossetti; and grandchildren, Jennifer, Marshall and Daniel Shore; Nicole Swanson, husband Paul, Alexandria and Dante Rossetti. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends/colleagues. A Celebration of His Life will be on Saturday, April 30, 2011, 11:00 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul Blvd NE. If friends desire, contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, or the Ronald McDonald House.
