George "John" Franchini, 87, a lifetime citizen of Albuquerque, a successful businessman, and a World War II Navy veteran, passed away April 21, 2011. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Mary N. Franchini; their five children: John (Julie), Tom (Linda), Teresa, Kathy (Harvey), and Lisa Birchler (Bill); 12 grandchildren: Chelsea (Dave), Joshua, Tommy (Suzanne), Ashley (Casey), Kathryn, Jayne, Giovanna, Joshua, Alejandria, Nicholas, Ariana, & Sarah; and one great grandchild: Lillian. A rosary and mass will be held on Wednesday, April 27th starting at 9:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Chapel with an entombment immediately following. Pallbearers will be Joshua Franchini, Tommy Franchini, Joshua Secor, Casey Head, Ashley Head, & Giovanna Colyer. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Our Lady of Fatima School.
