Obituary for STEINER

James T. "Tommy" Steiner, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2011. He is survived by his two sons, Craig (Charlotte) of Katy, Texas and Michael (Elizabeth) of Ruidoso, New Mexico; one daughter, Lisa Steiner-Anderson (Bill) of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who all referred to him lovingly as "Daddy Tom". He was preceded in death by his wife of over forty years, Rose and his son-in-law, Larry Anderson. Tommy served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during WWII. In 1949, he graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in Wildlife Management. After working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for thirty years, he retired in 1985. He spent his retirement years enjoying his passion of hunting and fishing in the great outdoors. A service is being held today, Sunday, at 2:00 pm at French-University Chapel, 1111 University Blvd NE.
