Phillip "Felipe" Zamora, Sr., age 74, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, completed his journey here on this earth and entered into Eternal Life with the Lord, Thursday, March 31, 2011, while his loving family was at his side. Phil was born in Belen, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, where he served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and was involved with Marriage Enrichment. Phil was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Alameda Council #9928. He served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Sears where he was an Automotive Technician; then worked as a school cross guard at Alameda and Fourth Street where you could be sure that if saw you he'd wave and smile. Phil touched many hearts, in his kind and somewhat quiet ways. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlota and Sosteno Zamora, his special parents, Rachel and Benjamin C de Baca; sisters, Toni, Connie and Candy Zamora; brother, Peter Zamora; and Benjamin and Christopher Sandoval. Phil is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 46 years, Esther Zamora; his wonderful children who loved so much, Charlotte Perez and husband Glenn, Michelle Lopez and husband Frank, Victoria Perez and husband Leonard, Carla Torres and husband Sammy, Phillip Zamora, Jr., 14 precious grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Pauline Parra, Mary Rael and Geraldine Zamora; sister-in-laws, Martha Sandoval and Juanita Zamora; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Phil will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final Viewing will be Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Daniels - Alameda Mortuary. Service of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Phillip Zamora, Jr., Sammy Torres, Frank Lopez, Glenn Perez, Jimmy Leyba, Nathan Montano, and Matthew Montano. Honorary Bearer will be Sean Lovato.
