George Haskins, Jr., age 85, a resident of Los Chavez, NM passed away at his home on Friday, March 25, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was an avid fisherman and taught all his grandkids how to fish. George proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII serving during the Normandy Invasion. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vada Morgan Haskins; brothers JB and Red Haskins; and grandson, Jordan Fought. George is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Billie; daughter, Jean Fought and Phillip Padilla; son, Jerry Haskins; grandchildren, Chris Fought, Kyle Fought and wife, Tiffany, Eric Fought and wife, Jennifer Womack, Dustie Atkinson, Cory Sparks, Matthew Haskins, and Andrea Lovelace; 14 great-grandchildren; and special friend and caretaker, Suzanne Eastman. A Graveside service will be held at Terrace Grove Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29 with Betty Richardson officiating.
