Obituary for FULLERTON

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday March 27, 2011

Vivian P. Fullerton, (Grandma Butchie), 95, was welcomed into the open arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 25, 2011. Vivian was preceded in death in 1970 by her husband Ray, the love of her life, and by her beloved son Bobby in 2009. She was born on a farm in Chambers, Nebraska, in 1915, one of twelve children born to James and Gertrude Cavanaugh. Early on, she learned the value of hard work, honesty, sincerity, and kindness. She had an unconditional love for everyone she came in contact with, and was loved in return. She is survived by a sister, Claire Ramsey (Bill); a brother, Richard "Hoot" Cavanaugh; a daughter, Mary Lu Parker (Gene); sons, Jerry Fullerton (Peggy), and Jack Fullerton (Marie); daughter-in-law, Pam Fullerton. Surviving grandchildren include David Parker (Angie), Robert Parker (Leslie), Jim Parker (Julie), John Parker (Rissie), Zach Fullerton (Celeste Curry), Brian Sterck (Diana), Tommy Fullerton (Beth), and Monica Fullerton. Her great-grandchildren include Chance and Sierra Fullerton, Ryan Parker, Christen and Jessica Parker, Scott and Kelsey Parker, Payson and Keylee Parker. The family would like to express its heartfelt thanks to Vivian's caregivers Maryam Karimi, Bertie Driggers, and Suzette Driggers; her wonderful neighbors Rita and Ron, and Joe and Mary; and her gentle and caring hospice nurse Eileen Dosch. Her little Irish smile will be missed by many, but the thought of her in her new heavenly home will comfort us all. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Vivian's life will be announced and held at a later date. "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck." Arrangements made by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW, ABQ. 505-343-8008.
