Nancy K. Brown age 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964 and a former resident of Fort Hood, TX, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Nancy was the Past President of the AFSCME union local #18, Past Treasurer of AFSCME state council, Past President of the AFSCME retirees, Past President of the American Business Women Association, Sando and El Sequndo chapters and a former member of the Rainbow girls. Nancy enjoyed music and reading, shopping "QVC", baking (especially candy and fruit cake), and an avid piano player. She was a supportive mother and adoptive mother. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca L. Turney and husband, John M., of Albuquerque, NM ; adopted daughter and friend Ellen Schumacher of Albuquerque; her beloved canine companions, Otto, granddogs, Lili, Sofi and Elli. She is preceded in death by her twin sons, Kent Randall and Keith James Brown in 1955. Inurnment will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Humane Society of New Mexico, 615 Virginia St. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
