Evangeline S. Perovich, 90, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 following a long illness. Born to J.M. & Candelaria Sandoval on September 1, 1920, Evangeline grew up in Corrales, NM. A graduate of Albuquerque High School, Evangeline was secretary to the chief of Veterans Educational Program where she met her husband, Steve. Following her marriage, Evangeline remained at home to raise their daughters and help her husband with their apple farm. Evangeline is survived by her daughters: Regina Moynihan (Tim) and Christine Voliva (Tom White) of Albuquerque; her grandson: Steve Moynihan (Lora) of Wheaton, IL; granddaughters: Stephanie Moynihan of Seattle, WA; and Amy Voliva of Scottsdale, AZ. She is also survived by her caregiver, Tseten Youdon (Pempa) as well as extended relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Perovich and son-in-law John Voliva. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to Ambercare Hospice, 2129 Osuna Rd. NE 87113. Evangeline, or "Grandma", as she was affectionately called by everyone, will always be remembered as a kind, caring and giving person whose smile will be missed by all.
