Melecia Valdez Duran, age 69, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, completed her journey on this earth and entered into Eternal Life with the Lord, Friday, March 11, 2011. She was born in La Jara, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque. Melecia was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church; and enjoyed working with ceramics. She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustine and Rosa (Casaus) Valdez. Melecia is survived by her loving daughters, Shirley Duran, Dina Duran, Donna Roth and husband Thomas; her precious grandsons, Zachary and Alexander Roth who she loved so much; her sister, Nancy Pacheco and husband Tony; three nephews, Anthony, Randy and Eddie Pacheco; many relatives and friends. Melecia will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Santo Nino Catholic Church in La Jara, NM, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Santo Nino Church. Interment will follow at the La Jara Community Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Anthony Pacheco, Randy Pacheco, Eddie Pacheco, Thomas Roth, Robert Valdez, and Elmer Martinez.
