Obituary for BOULOY

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday March 13, 2011

Deodato Juan Bouloy, "Dato", was born on September 4, 1927, to Louise Burn Bouloy and Julio Bouloy, Jr. in British Honduras (Belize). Sent with his two brothers to the United States for a better education, Dato graduated from Regis High School in Denver, Colorado. After honorably serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, he returned to Denver, where he married Suzanne Young, who survives him after fifty-eight years of marriage. A devoted Catholic, and a member of Annunciation Parish for 45 years, his favorite daily devotion was saying the rosary; he kept it with him always. Dato, whose favorite past-time was meeting and visiting with people, was a natural salesman, and had a long career working for Mirro Aluminum Corporation, the Knights of Columbus, and Heads Up Landscaping, retiring at age 78. During these years, Dato made many friends, who will remember his signature greeting "Hi guy", and his kindly farewell, "God Bless You". In addition to his wife Suzanne, Dato is survived by his brother, Lewis Bouloy and wife, Jo of Sacramento, CA; his sons Greg and wife Kathleen, Brian and wife Carol, all of Albuquerque; Raymond and wife Marianne of Austin, TX; and daughter Claire and husband Step Dobyns of Santa Fe. Dato is also survived by ten grandchildren: Kaitlin, Sarah, Jonathan, Brooke, Jacob, Joshua, Bryce, Jared, Brhett and Chase. The Bouloy Family is in gratitude to long-time friend, Audrey Northrop, who faithfully brought Dato communion during his long confinement. A Rosary will be tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Reflection of Life Chapel (Washington and Cutler NE). Mass will be Monday at Annunciation Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. with his grandsons and dear friends Gary Mallory and Gene Kastelic serving as pallbearers. The Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. To Dad and Papa, we all love you and will miss you, and May God Bless You. Special thanks to all his caregivers.
