Katherine V. Wiesch, 80, resident of Albuquerque since 1968, passed away to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Katherine was born on May 23, 1930 in New York City. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Richard W. Wiesch, Jr.; son, Robert W. Harms and wife Laverne of Albuquerque; daughter, Maureen K. Branch and husband Paul of Woodbridge, VA; grandsons, Adam M. Branch, wife Bonnie, and their son Gabriel of Columbus, GA and Darren M. Branch and wife Catherine of Springfield, VA; brother, Francis McConnell of County Cork, Ireland; step-children, David Wiesch and wife Jan and Sandy Gross, and many extended family members. Katherine was raised on family farm in Caven, Ireland with her brother, Francis and returned to New York as a teenager. She married Robert W. Harms Sr. in 1953 and later married Richard Wiesch in 1977. She worked many years as a secretary in the medical field and provided senior care before her retirement in 2006. Katherine was an active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She had a very caring personality and enjoyed traveling. A Rosary will be recited at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church (Indian School between Morris and Juan Tabo) with Mass of Christian Burial following at 9:00 a.m. Private family interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
