Jose Nives Cardenas, 89, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and neighbor was called home on March 4, 2011 by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joe was born in Albuquerque on August 28, 1921 to Dionicio and Luisa Cardenas. Joe lost the love of his life, his "Honita" Lucille Rose his beloved wife of 70 years on December 18, 2010 and his great, big loving heart just broke. He was also preceded in death by his parents Dionicio and Luisa and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joe is survived by his daughter, Rosemary and husband Vernon Dinelli, grandson, Michael and his children, Christopher and Gabrielle Dinelli, grandson Dante (Toni), their children, Desiree, Isabella and Dominick Dinelli, his granddaughter, Dina (James) and their son Elijah Soto, his best friend who never left his side "Sassay"- his dog whom he loved and spoiled. Joe is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, two very special people Lydia Gonzales and Pauline Johnson who made sure that Joe was OK, a special nephew who Joe loved very, very much and went out of his way to make sure his "Tio Joe" was never in need of anything especially love and companionship, Adam Montoya. Joe had nothing but love and admiration for his family. He was so proud of his hitos and hitas. Joe was a hard worker, a wonderful man who loved everybody. He was so young at heart and always ready for a new Adventure. Joe lived life to the fullest, and was a strong generous, loving and devoted Christian who loved his God. There will be a visitation, memorial services on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 7:00 pm. A funeral services on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm, with burial at Sandia Memory Gardens all services will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel with Reverend Ruben Guajardo Sr. officiating and also a few words of celebration by Reverend Ben Baca.
