Katherine Healy, born June 10, 1915, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Katy came to Santa Fe in the 1930's to teach first at the high school level and later at the elementary school level. She married her husband of over 50 years, Stuart, who preceded her in death in 1994. Katy lived a full life with passions for history and art. Her paintings are expressions of her love of life. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Healy, of Albuquerque; and her son, Jim, daughter-in-law, Debra, and grandchildren, Jake and Alissa Healy, of Cedar Crest; as well as three surviving sisters, Nancy Buchanan of Washington State, Olive Dollar of Columbus, Mississippi, and Bonnie Bruce of Vicksburg, Mississippi.
