Evelyn "Nona" Eleanor Chavez, 55, loving sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Thursday, February 17, 2011 while surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born May 20, 1955 in Albuquerque, NM. Evelyn was loved by Alfonso Mauricio and will always be remembered by her loving children, Joseph Chavez and girlfriend Kimberly Howell, Juan Chavez and girlfriend Sabrina Collins, Stephanie Chavez and boyfriend Mark Ramirez; her three brothers, David Chavez, Jessie Chavez, Timothy Chavez; her three sisters, Barbara Cordova and boyfriend Wilfred Moralez, Dorothy Burge and boyfriend Robert Guttierez, Emma Miramontes and husband Rafael; and her seven grandchildren, Eric Chavez, Darrell Gallegos, Adam Chavez, Angelina Gallegos, Savannah Chavez, Deja Chavez, Issiah Chavez; and numerous other aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Angie Chavez. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her wonderful family and was very involved in her church, Holy Family Catholic. She also enjoyed knitting and selling Avon as well as using the product herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.; Reciting of the Rosary at 8:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:00 a.m.; Interment to follow Mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
