Dorothy Marie Yates Jones of Albuquerque, NM passed away February 13, 2011. Her sweet soul went to Heaven to meet our dear Lord where there is no pain or tears. She was born April 23, 1920, in Baltimore, MD to Joseph William Yates and Wilhelmina Griffner Yates. She married Embrey C. Jones of Java, VA in 1942 in Virginia. They were stationed in Florida during WWII and then moved back to Maryland. They moved to New Mexico with their children in 1962. Dorothy's husband passed away January 4, 1969 and Dorothy will be buried next to him in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Dorothy was a loving mother and is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Jones) Bolek and Roxanne Jones; and four sons, Gary and wife Marilyn (Smith), Anthony, Tommy and wife Wendy (Swepston), and Gregory. She was predeceased by her oldest son, Carl, and his wife Neta(Caldwell). Dorothy is survived by ten grandchildren: Dane, Tim, Tamara, Katie, Nathaniel, Randy, William, Julie, Tara and Kelly; and six great-grandchildren: Noah, Tyler, Corey, Meghan, Sierra and Jace. She loved her brothers and sister, flowers, talking about her childhood memories, and looking at old photographs. She was quick to laugh and find the humor in everything in spite of having severe arthritis for 30 years. She was known for her cheerful disposition, her strength, courage, and unconditional love for her family. She was deeply loved by her children and grandchildren. She is sorely missed.
