Lesbia Clella Soapes, 84, passed peacefully away on Friday, February 11, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on February 24, 1926 in Stockdale, Texas, to Thomas J. Hewitt and wife Paula P. Hewitt. She is survived by her husband, Thomas D. Soapes; children, Rose Paulette Eide and husband Bill, Thomas H. Soapes and wife Lisa, and Michael D. Soapes and wife Becky; grandchildren, Leslie Eide, Kristen Eide, Nicholas Soapes, Kathryn Soapes, Michael Soapes and Erin Soapes; and great - granddaughter, Riley Soapes. She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Natalie Marie Soapes. Les was a dedicated educator having taught at Queen of Heaven and Kit Carson Elementary in Albuquerque and Woodlawn Elementary in Virginia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
