Joseph W. O'Neill, Sr., 81, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away February 13, 2011. He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Westby; sons, Joseph O'Neill Jr. and wife Karen, Brian O'Neill and wife Alma Marrufo; three grandchildren, Robert Westby, Dustin Westby, Alexis O'Neill. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Helen O'Neill. Joseph was born and raised June 9, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later became a member of the New York Police Department serving 20 years before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. He later moved his family to Albuquerque where he worked with the Albuquerque Public Schools Police Department for 19 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and taking in the beautiful scenery New Mexico has to offer. ***He was a great man, husband, father, grandfather and dedicated public servant.*** Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE and Meadowlark Lane, Rio Rancho, NM.
