Shirley Ann Kwiecien (Eslow) died peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2011. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 22, 1920. Her vocation was nursing; she graduated from Foote Memorial Hospital, Jackson, MI as a registered nurse in 1943. Shirley met the love of her life Frank J. Kwiecien through her best friend Ty Sypanski of Florida. They married August 26, 1945. Shirley and Frank fulfilled a lifelong dream by retiring to New Mexico in 1973. They resided in Carlsbad and then moved to Albuquerque in 1986. Shirley is survived by her three children, Michael Kwiecien of Oak Creek, WI, Jerome Kwiecien of Fairview, TX and Lori A. Williams of Albuquerque, NM and their spouses, Sue Kwiecien, Ann Kwiecien, and Ken Williams, respectively. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christian Kwiecien, Kenneth Hurst Williams, Theresa Weddle, Jessica Kwiecien, Alexander J. Williams, and Nicholas Kwiecien; and one great-grandchild, Tena Weddle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and sister, Eileen Ariesan. Being a resident of La Vida Llena for the past three years, she made many friends who will miss her dearly. A Memorial Service will be held at the La Vida Llena Chapel, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, 87111, on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The family wishes to thank Vista Care Hospice and the Wellness and Health Care staff of La Vida Llena for their compassion in caring for Shirley in her last days.
