Richard Scott "Dick" Bjurstrom, 53, a resident of Albuquerque, died on February 8, 2011. He is survived by his mother, Linda J. Bjurstrom of Albuquerque; sisters, Jana B. Hocutt and husband Barry of Birmingham, AL and Sandy B. Kull and husband Peter of Denver, Co; nephews, Reade and Trace Hocutt of Birmingham, AL and Scott Kull of Denver, Co; niece Simone Kull of Denver, Co. Dick was preceded in death by his father Dale Bjurstrom, a brother Craig Bjurstrom and a sister, Krista Bjurstrom. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from Denver University where he played rugby and hockey. Dick was very active with the Republican Party in Colorado and New Mexico. He was known for his sense of humor and was an avid sports fan. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Christ the King Angelican Church, 5300 2nd St NW. He will be deeply missed by his family.
