Sofia Melba Gabaldon Sanchez, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Sofia enjoyed doing crafts, coloring with her grandchildren and spending time with sisters. She loved to be outdoors, gardening and camping. Sofia loved life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leandro and Candelaria Sanchez; son, Clyde Scoggins; brother, Ruben Sanchez; sister, Emma Sanchez; and two grandchildren, Thomas and Elizabeth Scoggins. Sofia is survived by her loving children, Shelia Garcia and husband, David, Dennis Sedillo and wife, Terry, Steve Gabaldon, Carol Hudnall and husband, Hud, Michael Gabaldon and wife, Margie, Georgene Romero and husband, Joe; and sisters, Gloria Chavez and husband, Joaquin and Frances Garcia and husband, David. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Wednesday, February 9, beginning with a visitation at 10:30 a.m. with a rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date. Urnbearers will be Antoinette Caldwell and Candice Tibbit.
