John Dowmont (Daddy/PaPa) age 86, Resident of Albuquerque for over 60 years passed away the weekend of the January 22 at his home. John served honorably for both the United State Navy and Army from 1942 to 1953. He retired from AT&T in the 1990's after 36 years of service. He volunteered his services by reading for the blind from 1991 to 2007. John is survived by his sisters, Wanda Wexler and Yadviga Dowmont-Hallsay P.h.D; eldest child, Delia Wanda Otero and husband, Patrick Joseph Otero; son, John-Michael Dowmont; grandchildren, Alexandria Francis Otero, Meliton Patirck Otero and his wife, Claire Irene Otero. John will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM, with honors. Services pending.
